Project & Interior Direction
Some projects end with a completed home. Others become the beginning of something much more meaningful.
Roma Residence started as a full residential renovation, bringing together architecture, custom millwork, finishes, furniture, lighting, and every decision in between.
What made the project memorable wasn't only the finished space. It was the trust that grew throughout the process.
More than a decade later, that relationship has become one of the most meaningful friendships in my life.
The apartment was located inside a historic building in Roma Norte, where every intervention required balancing contemporary living with the character and elegance already present in the architecture.
The goal wasn't to modernize the apartment. It was to help it continue telling its story.
Every decision was approached as part of a larger narrative.
Rather than selecting finishes room by room, the entire apartment was developed as one continuous experience.
Materials, proportions, lighting and furniture were carefully considered to create a home that felt calm, timeless and personal.
Trust is built long before the project is finished.
The most successful collaborations happen when clients feel heard, understood and supported through every decision.
"Sometimes the greatest outcome isn't the home itself. It's the relationship that remains long after the work is complete."
The renovation of Pomona was a journey of creation, of discovery, of breaking down barriers and finding solutions.
Working with Alonso was a gift — it gave me the freedom to imagine what I wanted without excuses or limitations. I could describe what felt impossible, and he would find a way to make it real.
There's real value in being read that precisely — in someone understanding what was in my mind and translating it into something material, something you can touch.
He never rushed toward a finished point until we were both genuinely happy with the result. That unhurried pace made me feel like we were moving at our own rhythm, not someone else's deadline. Searching for every piece, every handle, every lamp, accompanied by someone with real expertise, gave me the confidence that I was making good decisions.
Nothing compares to the trust of putting your home — the place where you'll spend most of your hours — in someone else's hands. That companionship, that guidance, and above all, that creative window of "everything is possible" was what I loved most.
