The Story

Every project teaches something.

Casa Palmar became the project that shaped the way I understand project direction today.

Purchased as a family home, the renovation unfolded over the course of a year while living in the house every day.

Rather than approaching it as a typical renovation, every decision was informed by daily life — how the spaces were used, how natural light changed throughout the day, and how the home responded through every season.

It wasn't simply a renovation. It became a year-long education in what it truly means to live through a project.

The Challenge

The real challenges didn't appear during demolition. They arrived later.

The first rainy season revealed leaks. Materials behaved differently than expected. Construction details that looked right on paper required thoughtful adjustments in real life.

Living inside the project meant every solution was informed by firsthand experience rather than assumptions.

The Process

Rather than renovating everything at once, Casa Palmar evolved gradually.

Living inside the project allowed me to evaluate every room, understand how each space was actually used, and make thoughtful decisions over time.

Each improvement responded to daily experience rather than temporary trends. The result feels natural because every detail earned its place.

What Was Learned

Experiencing a project from both sides — as the homeowner and as the person directing the work — changed the way every future project would be approached.
